Consider the source
Living in the 21st century, you have no doubt noticed that the news is filled with completely irrelevant stories. Sure we may get a little touch what's going on with the war in the Middle East or what the latest update on the climate is- but what appears to be exceptionally important is what's going on with Tiger Woods and his personal life, or how much Michael Jackson's reputation changed, or what the newest app for your iPhone is.
Consider the source of your information. What's important in the world? And what are the priorities of the mass media?

What is I.T.
What is I.T.?
I.T. is a Seminar being held by Phi Theta Kappa at Copper Mountain College. But I.T. is more than that. I.T.'s an idea. The idea that our world is being transformed by the Information Technology, and that we have to figure out how to change with it. And yeah, I.T.'s an acrynom (Information Transformation)
When is I.T.?
April 10th at Copper Mountain College, starting in Room 119
How Long is I.T.?
10:00-2:30
Will I.T. Feed me?
Yes.
Why should I care about I.T.?
You should care for the same reason you care about the weather, presidential elections, and the cost of a movie ticket. You should care because I.T. affects your life.
Think about how you saw those awkward pictures your uncle posted on facebook a few too many hours at the pub on St. Patties day. Think about how when you Google something, there is corporation making decisions about what information shows up on your computer. Think about how you heard about the failed coup in Turkey. And if you didn't hear about it, well, that's something to think about.
You should care because Information is Transforming our world. You should care because I.T.'s coming...

Interviews in Palm Springs
The I.T. guys went to Palm Springs today to interview a bunch of random people. One would be suprised to see how much diversity of opinion there are on so many different subjects. Ranging from the 9/11 conspiracy, to Evolution, to 2012.
The video will be up in a couple days.

Information Transformation
We live in an age now where every bit of information in the world is right at our finger tips. From our computers, to our iPhones, to our media outlets, to the world wide web- all of which intertwine and entangle together to give us every bit of information researched and discovered and every single opinion of anyone who decides to put forth their two cents.
In this day and age, you are able to find evidence and sources which back up any opinion you derive. But the real question is- how do you know you are right? With bits of media being shot at us from all angle, bits of media in every corner we look- it will make the quest for truth that much more difficult: Like finding a needle in a pile of stick bugs. We, from the Information Transformation team, are willing to share knowledge on how to find out truth for youself.
This blog will be updated frequently between now and April 10th, the day on which the seminar will take place.
